“The Uganda WordPress Community has been active over the past 5 years and continues to grow at an impressive trend. With 6 active meetups in the country, what is unique about this community is that there is an army of teachers working together with experienced WordPress practitioners to make meetups and WordCamps student-friendly.
This has built a large following of WordPress users right from the grass roots with WordPress now being extensively used in the high school subject of ICT.
After an impressive talk by Abraham Wayta at WordCamp Europe 2024, there has been growing interest in how Uganda is doing its thing with queries coming in from across the globe.
This talk will take you through the journey of the WordPress Community since its first event, how educators have blended into the Eco system, what is currently being done in Uganda as far as WordPress is concerned and a glimpse into the foreseeable future.”
