Cyber Threats, Data Privacy and Security: A Case of WordPress

With the evolvement of technology all over the globe such as the growth of the internet, social media, IoT…etc. easing the way we live life, it is important to note that at the same time, the rate of cyber-attacks, data breaches and unauthorized use of personal data is growing exponentially.

In the current environment, it is more important than ever, particularly for organizations/business entities that use WordPress handling financial data, health information and other personally identifiable information to understand the responsibility they owe to the owners of this data and obviously themselves in in terms of its safety and usability.

This session seeks to open a discussion for WordPress on the existing vulnerabilities, and loopholes in our cyber security management at both personal and organizational level and how we can close these gaps. We will also explore cyber security and data protection best practices and compliance programmes to help organizations and individuals comply with the evolving new data privacy requirements for successful businesses particularly SME’s that are using WordPress.
