Call for Speakers

We are looking for practitioners, thinkers, and storytellers from across the digital ecosystem to share practical knowledge, real-world case studies, and hard-earned lessons.

You do not need prior speaking experience to apply. If you have built something interesting, solved a tough problem, mastered a useful workflow, or learned how to navigate your professional journey, our community wants to learn from you.

What We Are Looking For

At WordCamps, we focus on building and operating on the modern web, with WordPress and its open-source ecosystem at the core. While we welcome broader tech, web and business topics, every session should clearly benefit or directly connect back to WordPress users, creators, and developers.

We curate sessions across two primary learning stages:

Focus on Beginners & Fundamentals
  • Foundational learning, creative workflows, business operations, and career development anchored around the WordPress ecosystem.
  • Talks like: Demystifying website-building tools, best WordPress practices, SEO, accessible design, content strategies, freelance and agency operations, client management, and personal well-being in tech.
Focus on Advanced Builders & Contributors
  • Advanced development, specialized masterclasses, performance, and open-source contribution across WordPress and Open Web.
  • Talks like: Blocks, plugins and themes architecture, modern development workflows, security hardening, API integrations, high-traffic optimization, and contributing directly to WordPress core and community projects.

Suggested Topic Areas

  • Development & Engineering: WordPress dev/design, Full Site Editing, custom block development, headless architectures, API integrations, and code optimization.
  • Design & Experience: UI/UX workflows, typography, design systems, accessibility standards, and design-to-development handoffs.
  • Business & Freelancing: Pricing strategies, managing clients, contract negotiations, scaling service agencies, and navigating cross-border remote work for WordPress professionals.
  • Culture & Personal Development: Mental health in the tech space, career transitions, mentorship, team leadership, and sustaining open-source communities.
  • Content & Growth: Digital strategy, editorial workflows, copywriting, SEO, analytics, and building loyal online audiences.
  • Security & Infrastructure: Website hardening, hosting environments, backup and disaster recovery strategies, performance tuning, and database optimization.

Got a Different Talk Idea in Mind?

Don’t hold it back. If you have an unconventional idea or an emerging tech case study outside our core focus areas that you believe will genuinely benefit our community, submit it anyway. If it delivers real value and sparks curiosity, our review team will happily consider it.

Important Details for Our Speakers:

  • Duration: Talks will be either 30 or 45 and 60 minutes for the workshops, depending on the topic.
  • Multiple Applications (Max:2):You can submit up to two talks (using a separate form for each), but only one can be selected.
  • Contact Information:Include your contact details on just one slide (preferably at the end or very beginning).
  • Focus on Learning:Remember, this is a learning adventure, not a commercial space. Share your knowledge and experiences, but keep the focus on education.
  • Respect the Spirit of WordPress:The spirit of WordPress and its GPL license must be upheld in your presentation.
